Yeah, I’m thinking that maybe the co-pilot is encased in the black box? lol
Its funny because they open it with Ghost saying the last sewer jockey hit the wall, but he is still fine. “The Ghost here, I always come back for more!”
It was cool you mentioned “Night Trap” because, even though her career went south, Dana Plato (“Diff’rent Strokes”) was the first big name actor who was featured in a video game. Man, I had such a crush on her. What a waste…:(
Was a shame what happened to her, she was quite likeable in Night Trap. I remember watching Different Strokes: The Story of Jack and Jill and Jill and just feeling sad that her career/life was this far in the toilet. Then a few years after her death her son also kills himself. Gah!
I like it how he is eating something in every scene he is in even when he is surfing on a board with the chick.
The over the top acting is the most memorable things about the SegaCD games with Sewer Shark being the most famous that would probably been forgotten otherwise.
Ghost kinda sounds like a character from the WWF in the late 80’s/early 90’s when they are cutting promos. 🙂
Zerks have an average weight of 50 000 pounds? How can they fly? How can Stenchler hold a cage with dozens of them in his hand? Never mind them sucking brains out, one of them just ramming into your head will turn it into red paste.
Speaking of the brain sucking, I’m surprised you didn’t use the pertinent clip from Starship Troopers there.
I love FMV games. Tex Murphy, Wing Commander, Journeyman Project, the later Zork games…
Never played this game as a kid, but I did see Spoony’s excellent review and it looked hard as balls, so I can only imagine how much frustration you had to overcome not to rage-quit. And we’re glad you did, since this is also a hell of a compact review as well and that backstory about the game’s history is really interesting.
Love the Scorpions reference. If this game had Falco soundtrack it would have been better, and if it had had Scorpions soundtrack, it would’ve been amazing. 🙂
I don’t think anyone here would object if you continue to primarily review FMV games for Good Bad Games, since we all had our favorite FMV game and some of us loved the “genre” in general. Therefore, my suggestion is that you let us vote on which FMV games we’d like you to review. We could vote for a month, you could get the games and review them over the summer, just like you did with the vote-in sequels extravaganza in January.
A hilarious not-Dock Brown and not-Marty McFly shooter/adventure set in a desert town overrun by intelligent ants
It Came from the Desert for TurboGrafx CD http://www.mobygames.com/game/it-came-from-the-desert_
That one could give you A LOT of material to work with.
Spoony did this one? I guess it makes sense, I know he did a bunch of FMV hell, although the only ones I saw were Phantasmagoria and the Make my video ones. The game isn’t too bad once you get into the rhythm of things. Once I discovered I was being rated on my energy use and that I could just shoot the rats and avoid the bats, I beat it in an hour.
I wish I had footage of the models for the sewers. I had a VHS with footage from the studio where they made this stuff but I couldn’t for the life of me locate it. Didn’t see it on youtube either. It makes it more impressive when you see what they built and helps to make sense of the big price tag.
Ah, you caught the Klaus! I snuck that in there.
All great games. I have a couple of games lined up currently but don’t worry I’ll be back to the FMV games in no time. Maybe I’ll do one for a game challenge.
ust wondering what happened to Good Bad Games? It’s been almost five months since the last one. I’ve really enjoyed them so far, and it would be great if you could do another one.
My wife had a baby is pretty much the reason, lol. 🙂
Games is harder to produce so unfortunately, it kind of took a backseat so I could get stuff out while also being a new dad. I was working on the first Saw game to get it out for Halloween but something happened with the footage and I lost the last hour or so of the game. So I have to go back and play both good and bad ending to get the footage. I’m hoping to get it out for November.
I love doing GBG and I would like to be able to do them more often, It’s just not realistic right now. Hell, I still have 3 game challenges that I haven’t been able to edit. Believe me, I have every intention of keeping them going, its just finding the time is tricky.
If I can find some games I can beat in a few hours instead of like 8-12, I can get them out faster. I think maybe after Saw I might do something like D. That one you have to beat in under 2 hours. Plus, it is a really neat game.
Hm. So Ghost is in the ship with the pilot.
Pilots have a high death rate.
Ghost has served with multiple pilots.
Either the copilot’s section is made from the same stuff black boxes are, or Ghost is a serial killer of pilots.
Yeah, I’m thinking that maybe the co-pilot is encased in the black box? lol
Its funny because they open it with Ghost saying the last sewer jockey hit the wall, but he is still fine. “The Ghost here, I always come back for more!”
1.wow Cecil this whas better than the avgn review
.2.does this mean you wil doo timagal and night trap?
1 – Thank you.
2 – Night Trap definitely, I have more to into digital pictures with that one. Timegal, probably. Road Avenger as well.
So classic 🙂
Marky Mark for the win. Future video?
Feel the vibrations!

Also, Robert Costanzo voiced Lt. Bullock on “Batman: The Animated Series”.
He has credits a mile long

I loved FMV in games when I games on the PC mainly and PS1 especially when it have live action scenes like in the first Resident Evil.
If you’ve ever seen Ground Zero Texas, they have a great moment where they do the “We don’t need no stinkin badges!” part.
Ah, over the top acting. I also have a soft spot for the FMV wave. It gets way too much hate from people who weren’t even alive at the time!
I’m really hoping Ground Zero Texas and/or Corpse Killer are on the future list.
Ghost is what you would get if R. Lee Ermey and Bill Paxton had a kid.
Lol
DEFINITELY. They are both happening, I just need to capture them first.
LOL, perfect description.

They have the mass of dark matter. Stenchler must be way stronger than anyone realizes.
All great games. Every time I hear Zork all I can think of is “Want some Rye? ‘couse ya do!”

And of course – Night Trap.

and he HATED it, That’s why your review is a good alternate review and it paints both sides of the picture.
Can’t wait for the next Good Bad Games, then. 🙂

That’s a pretty good reason.
Well, anyway looking forward to the next video.
