Hemlock Grove is awesome! I can’t wait for the next season. Grabbers looks fun – I have to watch that later. I agree about Battle Royale – I liked it better than Hunger games but in a different way. Good stuff!
Hunger Games was hugely disappointing given all the hype it was getting that frankly the games and the action itself in the 2nd half of the film was just crap that I wasn’t expecting it to be as violent or as good with similar themes in dystopian sci-fi films like Battle Royale or The Running Man but at least something on par with The Condemned that didn’t really feel like they were participating in a death tournament.
Something tells me that you have recently gotten around to watching some Shout Factory releases with your episodes. America 3000, Deathstalker II, and Time Guardian. I am guessing Eliminators will come some time next month.
I would have preferred more with the Ninja but I think they were trying to set it up as a franchise, with the way they were introducing the characters. Still, fun movie.
On a recent podcast, Charles Band said that it was his first attempt to do an Avengers type movie. It didn’t do well, so a franchise did not happens he tried again later with Mandroid and Invisible. Same results. The only one that really did work was the Dollman series.
That sounds about right. A shame, I would have loved more with the cast, such a unique bunch.

Well, Cecil. Based on your reviews of Arena and America 3000, your upcoming review of Time Guardian, and this little sum up of Eliminators, I ordered that SciFi set. I hope I like at least one of the films so its worth the ten dollars.

1.I’ve heard Hemlock Grove is AWFUL but i’ll check it out based on this.
2. If you come to The Hunger Games for the violence, you have missed the point of the story
