The pictures of the suit I’d seen made it look much more like Iron Man, but the Batman and GI Joe connection did cross my mind as well.
Basically it’s a combination of a bunch of recent things. Instead of innovating, they just do what is currently popular.
Im waiting for a trailer to judge. Joel Kinnaman is an awesome actor. You guys are still gonna see this and you know it will be better then Robocop 3.
Well, that shouldn’t be too hard to do. Robocop 3 would have been much better if the studio didn’t turn it into a kid friendly franchise. Hell, the tv show was more violent.
Well at least this remake will be a HARD R right….oh wait following the trend it willbe an awful PG-13 remake butchering everything good from the original

Exactly. The original Robocop was bulky…almost clunky. This is too sleek and stylized. The whole thing looks to be designed by a committee rather than by artists. It’s generic and not iconic.

You cant deny that the new suit is influenced by iron man GI Joe the dark knight ect. it looks nice enough but i think we all have a certain negalgia for the old suit.
I don’t think it’s that. For me when I see this suit it doesn’t look unique. It looks like 20 other things. When you see Robocop (the original) it looks like Robocop.
Looks to angular and plain for my liking, plus the lack of the glove on his right hand throws it off somewhat. I am hoping he has his gun in his leg. It doesn’t have the look that it would stop a machine gun like the original suit did.
I wouldn’t buy that for a dollar!
But at least the ED 209 in the promo pics looks freaking awesome.
But for me it was the combination of Peter, Nancy, Kurtwood,Miguel and Dan that made the film, more than the suit/OCP/detroit.

Seeing how tech has evolved since the first film I wonder if gets Netflix through his visor or if he charges up via a USB slot. 🙂

Frankly do we need a remake of Robocop that is not really that old and still stands the test of time unlike the crappy sequels.
The only 80’s reboot film that I would want to see is The Highlander as the fight choreography was better bad in the original but they seem to have messed that up by casting Ryan Reynolds as Connor MacLeod which I think they could have picked a number of other actors to play the lead role. I wonder who they will pick to play The Kurgan?
Anne Lewis is not in the remake they replaced her with a guy!
Looking at the helmet design again with the black dome, the visor and visible mouth I can’t help but think; “Wow, paint this with some primary colors and this could be the greatest Power Rangers movie ever!”
Look at this and tell me you can’t see it too.
