Dance of the Dead
A bunch of kids are getting ready for their Prom, but it hits a snag when a zombie outbreak happens.
One of the best of the zombie comedies out there. Sure, there are tons of zombie movies, but this one ranks up there with “Shaun of the Dead” as far as both quality and laughs. They had a perfect balance of humor and gore.
The movie is told from the perspective of a bunch of high school kids that have been thrown together because of the zombie outbreak. They head to their Prom to try and save their friends before the zombies eat them.
For a lower budget film, it certainly doesn’t look it. The zombie makeup is quite good, and the effects are well done. They managed to squeeze as much as they could out of this and put it up on the screen.
The comedy is genuinely funny without entering into “groan” territory. It also had a charm about it that helped to elevate it beyond the average zombie property. You could tell the people involved with this really cared about the production.
Zombie-related films are a dime a dozen these days, and many of them are just awful. This, however, is well worth your time.

This was filmed in and around Rome, GA,, and I was nearly one of the many extras. I am in the credits roll. It turned out to be a pretty good movie and all of the extras got a lot of screen time. I wish that I had had the time to wait on my scene 🙁
