Great work, Cecil. Can’t wait for the exploration videos of “Road Warrior” and “Beyond Thunderdome”.
Hugh Keays-Byrne, who played Toecutter, played the black market surgeon, Grunchlk, in some episodes of “Farscape” and the Peacekeeper Wars mini-series: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0117412/
In fact, two of the actors in “Road Warrior” appeared in “Farscape”. Guess which ones?
Obviously the late Glen Larson was inspired by this film to create “Knight Rider” (1982-1986).
Some another facts: Miller also directed the “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” story for “Twilght Zone: The Movie”, featuring John Lithgow in the Billy Shatner role. Miller also got to direct the “Justice League” movie, but that was during the panic-stricken Writers Guild Strike of ’07. He’s a damn good filmmaker, but I didn’t want him saddled with a half-assed script.
Hugh Keays-Byrne, who played Toecutter in the first and Immortan Joe in the fourth, played the black market surgeon, Grunchlk in some episodes of “Farscape” and the Peacekeeper Wars mini-series. Some actors on the show have appeared in “Road Warrior”.
It’s also obvious that the late Glen Larson was influenced by “Mad Max” to create “Knight Rider”.
Great flick but it also seemed too modern for a post apocalyptic movie. Its like Dead End Drive-In where a post apocalyptic setting is introduced and forgotten almost immediately. Oddly enough this movie also reminds me a lot of Sidehackers. After his wife and kid die you kind of expect him to wander around aimlessly while “Only Love” plays in the background. Can’t we get beyond thunderdome?

I saw the trailer to “The Adventures of Barry McKenzie”. Looks like it’s up my alley. 🙂

Again, you always rock, enjoy your summer and remember…”I’m not supposed to be here today!”
Thanks man. I need to watch Farscape again from the beginning, I missed a bunch.
If you like Barry McKenzie, you should check out Alvin Purple. Kind of an ozploitation forerunner to the american sex comedy.

They are doing a documentary about the failed JLA movie.

Yeah, definitely Nightrider influenced Knight Rider
