It is an underrated film – so funny for all the wrong reasons too! I love how Talia Shire seems to be typecast into the role of athletic cockblocker for all aspiring athletes. First Rocky, now Cru! You would think that since she was the Executive Producer of Rad, she would at least try to convince the writer of the screenplay to portray her character in a more positive light. I also love how Cru says that the only thing he’s good at is riding his bike, and how this was supposed to be Bart Conner’s big leap into film…yeah.
And the opening song during the “wheelrape trick” sequence? Pure gold, it is such a great song! Who doesn’t feel pumped up to do something athletic after hearing it? 😀
Secretly, I think she really hates all sports, which is why she keeps landing in these roles.
Perhaps if Bart wasn’t a jerk who tried to redeem himself in the last 2 minutes of the film he might have been looked at better. His acting skills were no better or worse than some folks who went on to be quite big in the industry. Honestly, if someone like him was to come along now he probably would have been a big hit.
The soundtrack is super awesome! It makes me want to go out and kick some ass…but then I just settle for kicking ass in Street Fighter on Xbox.
She probably does hate all sports, but she is whiny and screechy, so I guess it makes sense that she would play this type of character!
Yeah, he isn’t a terrible actor, his character was just such a tool! He definitely redeemed himself in the last two minutes, but in a film like this, it wasn’t enough redemption.
I feel like shadowboxing or fighting someone or something when I hear the song, and would probably have to run down my street with my hands in the air to get over my desire to feel awesome. The whole movie is one long music video – I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie with so many music video style moments in it!
Sounds like a rad film 🙂
hehe 🙂
Maximum Overdrive?????
Not exactly but I may be doing that one eventually…
Yesss! Rad is so good/bad!
Hell yeah!
Best bike dance scene ever!!!
Agreed! I love it!
RAD!!! I love you Cecil! I watched this on my ipad on the plane last week en route to Chicago, its such a good movie!! Cannot wait!!
Thanks! 🙂
Such an underrated flick. Cru Jones ftw!
