I’ve only recently discovered your website, through Movie Apocalypse, and I’m definitely glad I did. Your collective videos made for a highly entertaining weekend… and I’m looking forward to your future endeavors. Keep up the good work!
Oh, man… Lance Henrikson. He’s always fun. His complete disgust at the Sigfried/Roy conversation was perfect.
At first, I was going to ask if you could blame Mark, since she’s pretty hot, but you’re right. He’s a complete assbag.
I’m not so sure about the Hills remake, though. I really liked the original, but a lot of what I read about the remake was that they pretty much just took all of the tension and suspense from the original and replaced it with over-the-top gore and a deeply uncomfortable rape scene. That’s kind of kept me from really even thinking about watching it.
Thanks, I figured go for something basic but cool and it fit really well.
Henrickson is awesome. He was so annoyed with the Seigfried/Roy conversation and played it perfectly.
Mark was just awful. Yes, she was pretty but he was hanging all over her. Eventually she had to get tired of it.
I loved the Hills remake and is one of the few remakes I thought outdid the original. The acting was better, the set pieces were better, the theme was better…I just loved it. I recognize the original’s place in horror history but I feel NoES will always be Craven’s best work.
The brutality of the film worked for me because you had this mild mannered guy who had to become ruthless in order to save his family from these bloodthirsty freaks. It just worked for me but I can understand it going out of some comfort zones. (thats me with any movie where an animal dies, I get really sad)
I was doing Doom sooner but pushed it off because in June it is being re-released on Bluray and it looks like there will be extra features and such. So, I’m moving that one to later in the year.
I look forward to your reviews every week and every week i am never disappointed. You got a fan here in Iceland rock on dude! ….Oh and the Area 69 joke cracked me up =)
Thanks! Awesome! I love hearing all these places around the world where people are watching. 🙂
lol thanks, the Area 69 joke was a product of a late night skype session with some friends and we were talking about the names of alien romance novels and came up with that gem. The other was E.T. – The Extra Testicle. (which is funny but I didn’t use since it was from an old Cheech and Chong movie)
Sooo glad you reviewed this movie. This is another one of those movies that I saw a tiny bit of on Cinemax ages ago, at like 4am, that was so batshit crazy that I woke up the next day and wasn’t even sure if I really saw it or just dreamt it up! The last 10 minutes was like a Scooby Doo episode on PCP.
