I’ve got to see this. I loved 20 Minutes into the Future and have the DVDs. This would make a fine addition. Now if I could only find copies of Doctor Doctor…
Incidentally, considering the show’s sly jabs at the industry, I can’t help but think the title is a bit of a comment as well.
I wish they would have included this with the DVDs but as with most stuff being re-released anymore, there are too many people involved and everyone wants to be paid. So, most times they just drop this stuff because it is too difficult to work out.
The title was a total stab at the industry. I don’t hear it much any more but (as I’m sure you know) the word “turkey” was associated with a movie or tv show that was considered a failure. That’s one of the reasons why I like this so much. It’s like the anti-Christmas special-Christmas special. I think they told Tina Turner who she was talking like 30 seconds before she walked on set.
I had only the vaguest memories of having seen Max Headroom when I was a kid, but now that I see him/it again I’m struck by how much Jim Carrey owes his delivery (especially in Ace Ventura) to Matt Frewer. I really liked him when I was a kid, then he sorta disappeared except for the Dawn of the Dead remake and one of the other National Lampoon movies. What happened to him?
