This November I’m going to do something a little different. Give me your requests for movies you want me to do a show on. Then the first 2 weeks of December I’ll put up a poll and the top 4 I will do in January. I still fit in requests as I can all year round but I figure this is a chance to do 4 favorites as a thanks to you guys for your support.
Head over to my facebook page and give your request.

So just link the trailer from youtube or if you can’t find one, a link from IMDB will do. I’m also including all current requests in the poll. Thanks! You are all the best!
Don’t have Facebook, so I’ll litter up another comments page!
I’d love to see you do some of the movies you’ve tangentially mentioned before, like Dragonslayer or Krull. And, I’m one of the few people who liked it, but I’d love to see a treatment of Speed Racer (even though it’s pretty recent). Otherwise, let’s see… I’d toss out The Last Starfighter, but that’s a good movie hands down. There’s also Enemy Mine, which didn’t get nearly enough love.
And since you love horror, how out Necronomicon, the movie from 1993 that’s an anthology of (very loosely) adapted Lovecraft stories?
No problem! Please litter these up with comments as much as you want. I’ll have to figure out a way to tally the votes between here and facebook.
You know, I’ve never actually seen the recent Speed Racer. I never really liked the cartoon so I wasn’t in a hurry to see the movie. I’ll give it a watch and if I like it I’ll add it to the list. Krull, Dragonslayer, and Enemy Mine are all added to the list. I’ll have to watch Necronomicon again…anthologies are really tough to do. (for me anyway) I’ve been wanting to do Nightmares for a while but can’t figure out the angle I would take.
The Speed Racer reboot was overinflated, stupid, and stuffed with far too much plot, but it was, without a doubt, a ton of fun. “Turn off your brain” is a cliche, but it fits here. There’s a lot of pretty, candy-colors (kinda like with the Dick Tracy movie) and a lot of… well, fun.
I can see how anthologies would be tough, but that movie was just so over-the-top and crazy. And the third part (Whispers) gave me nightmares. The only movie to do that since I became an adult (at least, age-wise). I’m not sure what that says about me.
After seeing how overinflated the Matrix sequels were (I didn’t hate them, they just were filled to the brim with, for lack of a better word, stuff) I had a feeling that was how Speed Racer would be. I find it humorous to a certain degree that Hollywood had been trying to make a Speed Racer live action movie for so long (Johnny Depp at one point was going to play Speed) that when they finally did it was a massive failure. I felt bad for Emile Hirsch. He was awesome in The Girl Next Door and I’m sure for him this sounded like a one way ticket to the major leagues. I’ll check it out one of these days.
Anthologies are tricky. I may give one a shot but I’ve tried in the past and I just wasn’t happy with how the writing was going. Trilogy of Terror used to scare the hell out of me as a child with the Voodoo doll. Now I’ve seen so much that it really takes something to scare me. Paranormal Activity (with the real ending, not the theatrical or DVD endings) scared the living hell out of me. My wife and I slept with the lights on like frightened children.
a perfect fit would be : The 13th Warrior
Love that one! I’ll add it to the list.
Mostly just the ones that you mentioned in other reviews, and haven’t gotten to yet, like: Rock n Roll Nightmare (Thor!), Class of 1999 II.
T.A.G. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084756/ would be a good one too.
lol Rock n Roll Nightmare with the legendary Jon Mikl Thor! I meant to do Class of 1999 part 2 this september but it got bumped for a reason I don’t remember. I’ve been holding out on TAG because all I have is a really bad VHS copy and it still isn’t on DVD. I’ve been searching for a better copy. Anyway, they are all added to the list!
What about: Flesh and Blood?
The Rutger Hauer one? You bet!
Another Ruther Hauer one: Blind Fury
Excellent.
Or any underrrated Marvel or Dc comic book movie. perhaps?
I was planning on doing the Dolph Lundgren Punisher, TMNT2, Darkman, Spawn, Mystery Men, and Catwoman at some point. (although, Catwoman is a terrible movie it is one of my favorite comedies)
I agree, you should definitely do Catwoman sometime.
Darkman is awesome!
Agreed!
A good friend of mine has been on me to do Catwoman for a while now. It’s hysterical. If it doesn’t get voted on for January it will be coming shortly thereafter.
AWESOME!
what about : warlock and the sequel Warlock – The Armageddon?
I like the first more than the second but they are both great movies. Julian Sands was perfect as the Warlock.
Hey cecil have you ever seen sgt peppers lonely hearts club band? With the bee gees? Omg, it’s awful.
I’ve seen it…and wow does it stink! I’m not a big Beatles fan (I respect them for what they have done for music but they are not my cup of tea) so that factors in. However, I think I’ll have to skip this one. I have a friend who is a die hard Beatles fan and he would never speak to me again if I ever did an episode on one of their movies.
I would, however, be willing to do an episode on Can’t Stop the Music. The movie about The Village People. It is RIDICULOUS.
It really is gadawful. I don’t know what’s worse, Donald pleasance stumbling thru she’s so heavy, or that look Maurice gibb gets during his rendition of day in the life.
Donald Pleasence will do anything to get people to forget he was in Pumaman.
Basket Case 3? I don’t know about 1 or 2, but 3 is one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen.
They are all pretty bizarre. Basket Case 1 is actually a pretty cool movie. (but very weird) 2&3 go more into the goofy side of things but still are entertaining.
I may have to do all 3 of them.
I came up with another: the truly awefulsome Suburban Commando.
Got a few requests for that one. That movie was the first movie I ever saw twice in one day…I was really bored.
I don’t know how much you’re familiar with wrestling, but this movie has my favorite wrestler in it on his feature film debut. The Undertaker!
I was into wrestling back in the 80s when it was the WWF. I don’t keep up with it very much any more but some friends and I get together every year to eat hot wings and watch Wrestlemania. It’s a tradition that has been going on for well over a decade.
I didn’t know that the Undertaker was in this! That’s awesome. I figured the other guys were wrestlers simply by their size. I usually play the Undertaker when I play the wrestling games on my 360. I used to use Sting but he isn’t around anymore.
TAker is the bigger of the two bounty hunters, the one that speaks!
I was watching some of your older videos (I’m doing my part to get you that phat internet lucre!) and you mentioned a pair of movies you planned to do: Breakin’ and Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo. Hope you haven’t forgotten those. Especially Breakin’ 2 which has the best subtitle in history.
Yay! Internet monies!
I have big plans for the Breakin movies, I just haven’t decided how I am going to go about it. They are both tremendously fun movies and I want to make sure they get some special. Also, yes, Electric Boogaloo is the best subtitle in history. I use it almost daily.
